“Never write when you can talk. Never talk when you can nod. And never put anything in an email.” - Elliot Spitzer. Have you ever sent out nasty emails while you were very angry or upset and then wished real hard that you hadn’t done so? If only there was a way to recall those emails !! But there IS !
Behold the new beta version of the near-magical email service brought to you by BigString. Not only you can pull back those emails at any point of time, your messages are rendered non-printable and your graphics becomes non-savable. On top of that, if you wish to, your emails get auto-destroyed upon reading and you’re even able to change their content anytime you wish to.
BigString isn’t exactly a new service, but they’ve added a lot of new features in the beta 2.0 - the foremost among them being the ability to send Video mails. The basic account if Free and you get a 1GB mailbox along with it. If you opt for the Premium Paid Service, you get a 2GB inbox hosted on your own domain.
Among the other cool features are …
- Track how many times your email’s viewed.
- Add fancy auto-destruct effects like Fire, Fade-out etc.
- Masquerade your email address making it seem like the mails have been sent from one of your normal email accounts and NOT BigString.
- Make your emails Non-Forwardable.
- Antivirus & Spam filters
The interface is somewhat poorly designed and leaves a lot to be desired. However, where it lacks visually, it makes up for with features. With this service BigString claims to have solved the worst 12 emailing mistakes ever.

All in all it’s a pretty good service worth availing, especially if you’re in the habit of lopping off nasty emails to your boss in the heat of the moment
Sign-up is free and open right now.
