Changed the WordPress Theme for Chaos Laboratory

As you can make out, I’ve performed a theme switch. While I really liked the sober looks of the earlier one I needed a theme with more space (read width) for my content. Since my site is primarily content oriented I want to promote readability as much as possible in order give the visitors a more engaging experience. The theme is named Anaconda and is designed by Angsuman, the author the the Taragana blogs.

What I like about the new theme is that it’s got a very clean look and it’s easy on the eyes while you read articles. It also has this trendy upbeat look. However, it’s far from what I desire out of a theme and it’ll require a lot of customisation. My only grievance against this theme is that the CSS is absolute hell. If you needed examples of “spaghetti coded” CSS, this would be right on top of the list.

That doesn’t mean the theme is bad - in fact it’s a very well-designed one. If only the CSS was so. What I plan to do is base off a new theme on this and start coding it with far simpler CSS. Lets see how far I succeed.

Incidentally, those who’re interested in acquiring this theme, it can be found here.
