I can't get the plug to even activate on my wp 2.5.1 site.

But then again, I also have the truncated posts (read more..) as was mentioned already.

Let me know...thanks

A raver at heart - the only way I can aptly describe me is a bouncing ball of sheer energy. Blame it all on my air sign - but I find it extremely difficult to affix myself a certain spot (apart from when I\'m sitting in with my hi-tech paraphernalia) . Tr

This truncated post issue is one I need to sort out really fast. As for working on WP 2.5.1 - it does without a hitch, as you can see on my own blog. But then again, I don't truncate my posts.

You mentioned something about not being able to activate it at all - what kind of error messages / problems are you facing? Can you please elaborate a bit on that?

Thanks,

Well, I did manage to get it activated, however it looks weird.
I'm using a plug in called Plug Installer (it automatically updates your plugins), and
when I activate the LiveSig plugin, it's the only one that is not highlighted. I guess that
means it's not on the Wordpress Plug in page? Not sure.

Anyway, I did manage to get it activated and put the code in, but it screwed up the
formatting on my home page - but that's the truncated post issue.

So, I'll de-activate it and wait until it gets fixed.

Hurry, please! I am planning to upgrade most of my blogs to those ma gazine style
themes. And I've gotten lots of compliments on my signature!

GiGi

P.S. will you make some kind of announcement when it's ready?

Yep - my plugin wasn't on the WordPress plugin repository so far, but it will be from now on. If you're using WP 2.5.x, you surely won't need the Plug Installer plugin, as this version of WP onwards has a built-in feature to notify you of new plugin versions as well as allow you to update automatically.

That's the one I'm actively trying to figure out - but it's got me baffled so far. Maybe I need some professional help Cheesy i.e. my other plugin developer friends. Trying my best to come up with a new fixed release ASAP.

Will do so with a short post on the blog. If you want to you can keep a watch on it through the feeds Smiley

The compatability problem i am having is this:

When activated, the LiveSig plug-in causes all of my posts to disappear, except for the title and comments. No body shows up. I do not truncate my posts, so that isn't a problem.

I just updated to WP 2.5.1 yesterday, as it was finally available in my fantastico. I had no problem with the LiveSig plugin until I upgraded it today.

What could be the source of the problem?

insanity: Shameful.. but I have to admit it - I faced exactly the same problem when I installed the updated version on my wife's blog - MindChimes. I got only the title and a totally blank body  Undecided

Can I ask you a favour - can you follow some instructions and try and help me debug this problem? I can only test it here on my local Wordpress installation - but that doesn't give me the platform needed when the plug-in is up against a fully-functional real-world blog with loads of additional plug-ins installed...

Anyways, here's what I need you to do. Open up the file, livesig.php that can be found in the livesig folder. The last line in the file reads...
Code:
add_filter( 'the_content', 'signature_hook', 1 );

Notice that numerical '1' there? Try changing that to a higher value (anything above 10). Try a couple of values - say, 11, 15, 20 etc. And everytime you change the value, save the file, upload it to your blog (if you edited it locally) under your livesig folder and refresh the blog page... See if the content comes back and the signature shows as well - but without messing up the content in any way. And then get back to me with the value that worked for you.

If you manage to get this done, it'll be one of the biggest helps in the development of the plug-in.

Thanks Smiley
